"Holy Shit - An Update!" Or, "House of Shred Being Re-born!"
Hank and I were planning to re-launch HoS in a more up-to-date format when I received a decent offer from an ad agency looking to buy the domain name for one of their clients. Needless to say, I took the money! We felt like the "shred" moniker was pigeon-holing us anyway, so why not take the opportunity to form a new identity for the re-launch?

Kev & Hank's House O' Rock is under construction and will fill this space at www.house-o-rock.com soon. We'll leave the old House of Shred files up as an archive and a monument to our semi-glorious past.

I take no responsibility for what shows up eventually at houseofshred.com. Hopefully it won't totally suck.

R.I.P. Dimebag Darrell
As has been widely reported, guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott(Damageplan, Pantera) was shot and killed while performing in an Ohio club on December 9th. The House of Shred would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Dimebag and the three other innocent people shot and killed by the deranged Pantera fan at the show. At least the shooter was also killed so that he cannot hurt anyone else in the future.

New Black Label Society album due on Spitfire Records April 20, 2004
Hangover Music Vol. VI is an album that will change all preconceptions about Zakk Wylde & Black Label Society. Hangover Music, Vol. VI is an emotionally fueled work of genius, mixed with brilliant piano concertos and guitar solo mastery that has become Zakk Wylde's signature.

Preview it here: www.spitfirerecords.com/e-cards/BLS-Hangover

Track-listing for the album is as follows:
1.Crazy or High 2.Queen of Sorrow 3.Steppin' Stone 4.Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow 5.Takillya (Estyabon) 6.Won't Find It Here 7.She Deserves A Free Ride (Val's Song) 8.House of Doom 9.Damage is Done 10.Layne 11.Woman Don't Cry 12.No Other 13.Whiter Shade Of Pale (Procol Harum cover) 14.Once More 15.Fear

Also, Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society & iTunes have teamed up to offer fans an opportunity to download music from the "Slightly Amped Tour" recorded in 2002 at Westwire Studios in Allentown PA. This tuned downed acoustic, sometimes electric performance is a rarity. This offers Zakk Wylde & Black Label Society fans another side of the band seldom seen or heard.

Sweet things happening for Warrant
For the first time in ten years, original members, Erik Turner (guitar), Jerry Dixon (bass), Joey Allen (lead guitar) and Steven Sweet (drums), are back together again.

It didn't take "VH1's Bands Reunited" to bring back Steven Sweet and Joey Allen. "It's been strange to play the music after ten years," explains Sweet. "I think it’s the right time to be back. It's not just reuniting band members, but the start of something new." This surprising announcement comes on the heels of the recent addition of dynamic front man Jaime St. James (Of Black n' Blue fame).

The members of Warrant are charged up and looking forward to an exciting future that is sure to include touring and recording. Warrant fans will be thrilled hearing songs from the first three records, DRFSR, Cherry Pie & Dog Eat Dog, that have not been heard live in 10 years.

With Steven Sweet's return, Warrant has bid farewell to their friend and Brother, Mike (The Sack) Fasano. The band wishes him nothing but the best of happiness and success in the future.

Great White condemns inappropriately titled, unapproved album
The label Horizon–Italy has recently released an unapproved album titled Burning House of Love. This album is not approved by Great White. Rather the band condemns this release and asks all fans and friends to not purchase this album. They feel that the label is insensitive to the victims of the Rhode Island fire and are trying to capitalize on a tragic situation. This type of practice is called repackaging; Record Companies take previously released songs, and put on a new cover with a new title.

The band and their attorneys are working on stopping this release, as it is being sold under the Great White name without the band's permission. Great White wants to apologize for any discomfort this may have caused, as they found out about this release much the same way as the fans – via the internet. It was of great shock to the GW camp.

Tragic fire at Great White show kills at least 86, destroys venue
At the beginning of a Great White concert, on-stage pyrotechnics apparently ignited acoustic foam on the walls of The Station in West Warwick, Rhode Island, resulting in a massive fire that burned the venue to the ground. So far, 86 people have been found dead and a reported 187 were injured, 25 critically. Great White guitarist Ty Longley is also missing at this point. You can get the latest information at MSNBC.com. We will also update this story as new information comes in. If anyone who was at the show would like to share any info, e-mail it to news@houseofshred.com.

House of Shred extends our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of this horrible accident. We also would like to extend our sympathy to the band, who must be dealing with emotions that can only be described as unimaginable.

Leviathan Records Shares First Quarter Plans
(Press Release) Leviathan Records has announced first quarter releases for 2003: Michael Harris - Hurricane X, Southern Gentlemen - Double Your Pleasure and reissues of David T. Chastain - Instrumental Variations and Joe Stump - Guitar Dominance.

Label head David T. Chastain states, "Instrumental Variations (1987) and Guitar Dominance (1993) are 2 releases that the fans just won't let die. We will be digitally remastering both to get them up to today's sonic standards." Michael Harris' Hurricane X is a revised version of his Diginet Music 2002 Guitar Master CD. "We felt the Guitar Master releases had to become commercially available. Some astounding guitar! Other CDs to come later!"

The new Southern Gentlemen promises to be heavier with more jams to satisfy David's metal and instrumental fans. "This one is heavier than Exotic Dancer Blues and at the same time has more guitar for the shred heads. This release has 80% of the same tracks as the new Georgia Blues Dawgs Racing Back CD, just much heavier versions. (www.georgiabluesdawgs.com)

Joe Stump's Reign Of Terror - Conquer and Divide and Firewind - Between Heaven and Hell continue to sell briskly and receive great reviews. For more info: www.leviathanrecords.com.
